Quality Engineer - Plymouth
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for managing and developing the company’s Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) system with particular attention on ‘Horizontal Development’, reviewing root cause and corrective actions of products and processes.
Responsibilities will include:
• Achieving a tangible reduction in Quality Failure Costs. • Responding to quality issues, containment issues and verification of any products or materials that do not meet the required standard / specification. • Raising, reporting and completion of CAPAs. • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions including verification of their effectiveness. • Trend and customer complaint analysis and reporting of Company’s quality data. • Work collaboratively with Engineering and Production departments to ensure quality standards are met. • New Product Introduction support. • Validation. • MRB participation. • Auditing of Company quality procedures and supplier audits.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
• HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). • Six Sigma trained. • Previous QA Engineering experience and knowledge within an aerospace / medical / automotive environment. • Knowledge of ISO 13485 / AS9100 / TS16949 Standards • CAPA experience • Methodical and pragmatic approach • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to liaise effectively at all corporate levels. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to promote and train good quality practices within the organisation.
