£28,000 - £32,000 / Year (Bonus scheme + other benefits)
Product & Supplier Manager - Cambridgeshire
Great opportunity for a commercially-minded PhD educated life scientist or holding a degree and with extensive post-degree laboratory experience, who is looking for a customer-focused scientific role! This position is heavily focused on relationship management with suppliers, providing technical training and presentations to customers, as well as generating technical marketing material to assist the sales team in driving sales of the product line.

This role is predominately office-based in Cambridge.
There will be travel around once or twice a month to visit suppliers/customers/attend exhibitions with the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and strengthen relationships with the company's suppliers to help secure profitable sales growth for the product lines across the UK.
- Be the key point of contact between the company and the suppliers that you are assigned to.
- Develop strategic business and marketing plans for the product lines.
- Work internally with the sales team to identify new and existing customers that would benefit from the product lines to help drive the sales across the UK.
- Analyse product performance, growth opportunities and deliver accurate financial forecasts to analyse opportunities and potential obstacles.
- Assist with creating marketing material to help support with the sale of the product line, as well as developing application notes.
- Ensure excellent market knowledge and awareness of competitor activity, specifically in relation to the product lines that the company represent.
- Ensure the sales team have all training required on the product lines and give technical presentations and seminars to customers when required.
- Liaise with suppliers' technical support teams to discuss product performance, customer feedback and any issues faced to assist with product development moving forward.
- Keep abreast of the market and assess potential new supplier's portfolios for performance, quality and relevance to the current product offering.

Person Specification:
- A PhD. or extensive laboratory experience and knowledge of relevant cell biology techniques such as cell culture, microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA and western blot.
- Ability to analyse feedback and data and put this into a solution-focused approach.
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Team focused and can work well with a range of different people.
- Commercial experience in sales or application support is preferred, but not essential
- Ability to prioritise different tasks and excellent attention to detail
