HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT LEVEL 2 / 3 REQUIRED URGENTLY AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY
DUTIES: Provision of general basic nursing care under indirect supervision of the practice nurse team leader.Undertaking tasks and duties delegated by a suitably qualified regulated professional. Provision of administrative support as required within competencies. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures alongside nurses and administrative staff in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice population. To assist the MOs and practice nurse teams within Primary Health Care clinics, Occupational Health assessment clinics, chronic disease clinics, health promotion. Clinical measurements, visual acuity, ECG, glucose tolerance tests, peak flow readings, inhaler technique, spirometry, urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation, understanding of infection control. Effective communicator with other team members and patients. Undertake effective communication with patients in specific clinical situations
Qualification minima and experience
Essential Literacy and numeracy skills 2 -3 years previous experience working in general practice or other healthcare environment Experience working under indirect supervision National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) level 3 in healthcare, Medical Devices Competencies, Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training, Basic Life Support and Manual Handling Training.
Desirable: Additional skills such as; Audiometry, simple dressing procedures using aseptic technique, vaccination administration, health promotion Chaperone training. European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent First Aid Certification
